Dropping Hints

At dinner last night Lily let us know that her friends Jada and Mikayla both get to stay up until 9 o'clock. She also told us that their parents stay up until 11:00.

We let her know that she still needs to go to bed by 8:00. If she doesn't she is very grumpy the next day. What she may not realize is that we need for her to be in bed by 8:00 as well. I don't know when either of us would have any quiet time or time together if we didn't have the kids in bed an hour or two before we go to bed.

Today is the last day of school. Yes, Lily is going to be a first-grader. We've already decided that she is not going to stay up late all summer. She is welcome to sleep in though. It still amazes me that she won't wake up for school days, but on the weekends she is up right at 7-zero-zero.
