On the Road

I got a call from Amanda at 11:15.  The good news is that they were in Georgia, but the bad news was that I-95 was like a parking lot.  I couldn't check it when I spoke to her, but I found on Google Maps that there is indeed very thick traffic for a stretch of I-95 in Georgia, but the rest should be smooth-sailing.  They may not make it home for dinner, but they should be in tonight.  I'm really looking forward to seeing them.

On a positive note, Christmas is taken down here at the Chamberlain house.  It feels like "real" Christmas to me because it is pretty chilly out there.  We're not supposed to get above freezing for several days and it is also a bit breezy.  A little bit of this from time to time makes us appreciate when it is in the 40s for most of the winter.

Raleigh Weather

It may prove to be an interesting weekend. My mom is coming to town today and will be staying until Monday morning. However, in the meantime we're supposed to get a lot of rain on Saturday with lows in the high 20s. This is the formula for an old-fashioned Raleigh ice storm. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving from the Chamberlain household. As this blog chronicles the ups and downs of our household it is sometimes easy to lose sight of the big picture. We have much to be thankful for including, but not limited to:

  • A roof over our head
  • Clothes on our backs
  • Food on our table
  • Good health
  • The freedom to worship as we choose
  • The security that comes from living where we do
  • Most of all, salvation purchased for us by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross
I hope that you take time today to consider all that you have to be thankful for.

The Drop-Off

I don't normally link to other blogs here, but I think many of this site's readers will appreciate this story. As a general rule, that blog is worth space in your RSS reader.
